Casillón 2 – disconnect from life’s craziness

I absolutely adored my two-week stay in El Casillón 2. I found the house full of thoughtful touches, such as fresh flowers that were left on the dining table, a basket of beautiful fall produce, and a toasty fire that was already burning for me when I arrived. This charming little house has everything you might need, and Magaly is incredibly helpful and accommodating. She was quick to answer every question that I had during my stay (I ask LOTS of questions X-D), and she even made an extra visit to the house to make sure that I had enough fresh linens and supplies to last my entire stay. She provided lots of tips regarding things to see and do in the surrounding area, too. Segura de Toro is nestled into a hillside and overlooks a gorgeous valley, so the views from the kitchen and bedroom window are breathtaking. Sometimes I would just stand gaping out the windows, especially since the autumn sunsets are absolutely incredible! The village itself is quite small, but there's a little grocery store and pharmacy just a couple minutes walking distance from the house. The larger grocery stores are about 20 minutes away by car. There are plenty of paths and hiking trails nearby (no car required), and if you have a car there are countless places to visit in the area. My trip happened during a lockdown period, but I was still able to visit both Hervás and Candelario. Both places are definitely worth it, and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. In summary, I would highly recommend this area and this property to anyone who wants to disconnect from life's craziness and enjoy the natural beauty this part of Spain has to offer.
